Fascinating pictures! Ladysmith has changed immensely and, unfortunately, not for the better.

Readers of this forum may not know that most municipalies in KwaZulu-Natal have new names. The Ladysmith Municipality is now named 'Emnambithi'.

The 'Siege of Emnambithi' somehow lacks appeal.

Your comment reminds me of when Chris and I were driving round and round PMB trying to make sense of the street names and the names on the map because the two barely matched up. I remember it being a long and frustrating evening until a helpful taxi driver helped us to our destination.

I agree, the siege of Emnambithi does lose something in the translation.
