If I remember rightly there was some talk about this medal when it first came up on ebay with regards to the bars.....

I don't think that he is entitled to them all.....

It was wither here or on BMF.....

The outcome was don't touch it.....

But then again maybe I am wrong.....

I am pretty sure it has been on the "favourite" site at least once. Just now I had a look on my mini CD of SALH and the bars as shown are confirmed. An additional marginal note says "to Army Reserve (?)4150 - whatever that means. SALH were a pretty big unit and indeed saw some action; if not as much as some other irregulars. The casualty status and the MiD (I did not look that up to confirm) means that it would request a premium. Perhaps not as much as $A1400, however.
Nevertheless, appears to be a nice QSA.

I have a similar QSA in my collection, but without the SA '01 clasp. It may not have been an uncommon clasp combination for this regiment, and this also applies to Bethune's Mounted Infantry and Thorneycroft's Mounted Infantry.
