Hi Gents,

It appears I have a tailors copy of the Tugela Heights Clasp. Problem is I do not have an original to compare it with, can one of you with such a TH clasp please confirm or post up a picture of your clasp for comparison?

I suspect due to the lettering being to tight (not well spaced) and the bar being very thin.

Thanks

Thanks Mike,

If only I had dug a little deeper within the ABW website. Think I was just fixated on posting up another picture!

That however does confirm my suspicion about this clasp.

I have brought the issue to the attention of the Seller.

Cheers
Stephen

Hi all

If you look on the roll, the Rhodesia and Talana bar columns are crossed out and 1901 & 1902 written in. He is entitled to the Natal bar but also Belmont according to the role, but in the end column, there is a line crossed out and the number 3 inserted, which looking at the other entries, would mean 3 bars, including the 01, 02 bars.

On a bodged KSA roll, it states the clasps, (dup), for the KSA were returned in 1904.

On another more formal looking KSA roll, it confirms the KSA 2 bar award.

Intriguing!

Doug.

The medals and clasps are correct as issued - eventually as Doug notes. Papers on FmP confirm service from December 1899 to 1902.

The entitlement to Belmont is simply a clerical "tick" next to the name - not a clasp entitlement.

The "bodged KSA roll" is the QSA Extra Clasp roll used for issuing CC,OFS,T,SA01,SA02 clasps.

A very nice correct group with some police research to be done as well.

Meurig
