QSA (4) Cape Colony, Elandslaagte, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal (237 Tpr: A Ross. Imp. Lt Horse);
British War Medal (Capt. A. Ross, R.A.F.).

Described as 'Captain Alexander Ross served in the Second Anglo-Boer War with 1st Battalion Imperial Light Horse, and is confirmed on the original medal roll, but is not listed in ‘Elandslaagte: Account and Medal Roll’ by Biggins. He subsequently served as a Lieutenant in the Colonial Scouts. A Lieutenant A. Ross is also listed in the 1918 Airforce List.'

Ross was listed in Update #2 of the Elandslaagte roll in March 2009.

M&E say Edwin George Palmer of the 1st Battalion Imperial Light Horse is confirmed on the medal roll, and was discharged on 12 October 1900. He had previously served for 3 years with Prince Alfred's Guard Volunteers

M&E say William John Treloar of the 1st Battalion Imperial Light Horse is confirmed on the medal roll. He was discharged on 16 January 1901 and joined the Commander in Chief’s Bodyguards as Trooper No. 27518. Roll also states ‘on G.O.C. Staff & sent to Eng.’
