Good Evening Everyone......

This has shown up on ebay and to me it is a made up piece.....   The QSA looks like it was at one time broached and then the bars added......

Someone has misread the medal roll, his entitlement to Wepener is crossed out as he was a reliever not a defender.

Provenance: Sotheby's, July 1982.

Served in the 1st Brabant's Horse. Enlisted 5 November 1899 in East London and posted to A Troop. Aged 21. Trade: Carpenter. Address: PO, East London. Discharged 4 June 1900. Also served CinCBG (22801) and Rand Rifles (not traced)

The QSA to Gordon Ryan just sold for £400.

Interestingly on the 1st Brabant's Horse roll he has the number 1 so was he the first man to join Brabant's Horse?
