Best Pleased Shaun,

Originally from the Henk Loots collection and sold via City Coins, I didn't go for it then as I picked up Nolan's DCM pair for Q Battery & The BSM's DCM group.

Appeared a few months later on a Spink E sale and got it for less than what it sold for originally. A bonus for me was to find out that his QSA is not extant and returned making the DCM his only medal.

Arthur Bentley Crowther born in Passaic County, New Jersey in 1871. (His parents were both born in Yorkshire but by 1865 they had crossed the Pennines and married in Lancashire.)

During the siege of Kimberley Arthur was a Private in the Kimberley Town Guard and can be found on the medal roll.

The link below takes you to his life story and his medal, as presented by Liverpool Medals and as far I can tell they were entirely on target.

However, the 1921 Census, which I suspect was not available to them when they did they write-up, shows he was born in Paterson, Passaic County - Paterson is the largest city in Passaic County and the third largest in New Jersey.
