This is amazing Pete. Admittedly a grainy image but I see my man among the ranks of the Glasgow V.M.S.C. fellows. I'll post a photo of the medal group once it reaches me.

Many thanks for these photos, which have enabled me to put faces to the Scottish Hospital medals currently residing in the Nemo collection. A while ago I put a post on the QSAs to women other than nurses regarding a lady from the Hospital. Her QSA is named simply "EJ Sinclair Scottish Hospital". The unit history shows her as a laundress. I would be interested in finding out more about her and how she was selected to serve with the Hospital.

Your E J SINCLAIR was attached to a different hospital - the Edinburgh and East of Scotland Hospital as it is titled on the medal roll, or the Scottish South African Hospital as it was called in the contemporary press. The small amount of information I have of this hospital has come from contemporary newspapers but I've seen nothing relating to those performing the most menial tasks.
A search of the inventory of the Scottish national library would seem to be a logical place to start looking for archive material.
