I thought it might be useful to see scans of both sides of the tobacco card.

"50 / TRANSVAAL WAR, / 1899-1900. / This handsome medal will be given to all British and Colonial Soldiers, both regular & Volunteer, who fought in the Boer War. After the reverses at Colenso and Magersfontein, the country was thoroughly roused, Volunteers from every corner of the Globe demonstrated to the World the unity of the British Empire".







These cards were produced for the same company that provided the tobacco for the "Frae Scots Tae Scots" tins.
