Dave, thanks again for pointing me in an alternative direction. I verified some documents on FOLD3 on Thomas Flynn 6544 / 654506 and I found a pension document for 654506. However it then gets confusing...
One shows him as dead in 1924 but the Ballina address looks probable, and the pension document gives his DOB as 1891 rather than 1887, yet on the reat notes mention Ann Lynch who was indeed his mother....
Now I am really lost!
