QSA (4) Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Diamond Hill, South Africa 1901 (406 Pte F.C. Dower. Uitenhage VR.)

Described as: F. C. Dower of the Uitenhage Volunteer Rifles is confirmed on the medal roll (appears to be entitled to an additional clasp South Africa 1901), and also served with Marshall’s Horse (No 3219). He died of disease at Port Elizabeth 31 July 1901 while serving with Marshall’s Horse and is confirmed in ‘The Boer War Casualty Roll’ by Palmer.
