WE ARE ABSOLUTELY RELATED . JOHN WAS ONE OF THE SONS OF HENRY RICHARD BRAZER BORN IN UK IN 1835 AND DOROTHEA REGINA WILLEMINA VAN EEDEN BORN IN CAPE IN 1846. THEY HAD 9 CHILDREN. MY DIRECT ANCESTOR WAS THEIR ONE SON JACOB BRAZER IS MY ANCESTOR AND HIS OTHER SON JOHN IS YOUR ANCESTOR

This is what I have on Leon:

Born in 1871. Trade: Cook. A Freemason of the Austral Lodge from 12 September 1898. Served with A Section, MTG (Siege Slip nominal roll). Mentioned in MM019, 27 November for the menu he provided at Riesle’s Hotel. The Christmas Day menu of the Mafeking Hotel is signed by Chef Leon Beavis. Attended the Freemason's meeting, 18 February 1900 (MM076, 21 February). 'Very good attendance at Lodge this evening. Davis and Beavis each taking their 'thirds' (Ross, 11 March). Also served No 3 L Co, ASC (not traced on rolls) and FID (Guide). KSA from FID. There is mention of a Mr and Mrs L V Beavis living in Geelong and Parramatta, NSW, Australia.

Your mention of his BWM is a new avenue to explore.
