Hi Koops and welcome to the forum. It's perfectly possible to have genuine engraved naming on a QSA to the Rifle Brigade and a number of other units too. I have an example in my collection. Could you please post a link to the item for further assessment as I can't locate it on eBay?

If you type in" boer war medals" it is to a Pte Fairbrass 6 bar Qsa and his 1914-15 trio .The starting bid is £185.00 buy it now £275..

The naming looks fine to me but there is a discrepancy with his number. On the main QSA roll page the 3 in 3466 has been amended by hand to 9466 and on the supplementary roll (for the SA01 clasp) it shows 9466 but with the incorrect initial R. At some point he transferred to 1/Manchester Regiment and appears on that roll (with number 9466 but incorrect initial T) as qualifying for the Belfast clasp as well as he does on the Rifle Brigade roll. All the clasps are confirmed on the rolls.
