Noble’s July auction is up. Quite a few QSA’s.

Thanks Jim.

A nice array of South African medals including a few left over from previous auction.

This does indeed look like an interesting auction.
What might be the add-ons for bringing a winning bid back to the UK? Would the item be liable for VAT or import tax? Any other costs to take into account?
All advice & comments gratefully received.
Cheers,
J

Jan808,

You can bid online at NN for free or use a third party site (Invaluable) with a 5% cost. You can leave absentee bids too.

Won bids are subject to the commission of 20%.

Depending how you pay for your items, there will be some transaction cost. If you pay by international transfer, there is a cost of AUD 30. If you pay by credit card, there is a 3% uplift. Many find it cheaper to use a service that transfers AUD directly to NN.

Postage for a couple of medals to the UK costs around AUD 40. International mail is trackable.

Definitely no VAT to pay. There should be no import duties to pay but that is no guarantee. NN declare for customs as ‘Numismatic Specs’.

Best wishes
David

Just noticed on Noble’s website. Date of auction now Monday 30 August to Thursday 2 Sept.
The change may have something to do with the COVID outbreak in NSW.
Now....... to have a look at Spinks.
Cheers,
Jim
