Verified on WO100/233p14. Roll says 'To England, 29 Nob 1900'.

QSA (1) Natal (Lieut: G. E. C. Meyer. A.O.D.), officially engraved in large capitals;

Lieutenant Gabriel E. C. Meyer served as a Conductor with the Army Ordnance Department, and was promoted to Assistant Commissary of Ordnance, with the honorary rank of Lieutenant, on 6 April 1898. He served with the Army Ordnance Department during the Boer War in South Africa, and was subsequently promoted Deputy Commissary of Ordnance, with the honorary rank of Captain, on 22 October 1902. His was appointed Commissary of Ordnance on 4 July 1909, and retired on 5 June 1912.

QSA listed on Wo100/233p7. KSA listed on WO100/355p/88.

Coronation, 1911 (Serjt. Major Malcolm Rafferty A. O. Corps), privately engraved;
Army LS&GC Ed VII (604 Armr: S. Serjt: M. Rafferty. A.O.C.)

Malcolm Rafferty, of Aldershot, Hampshire, served in the Second Boer War in South Africa on attachment from the AOC to the 3rd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment (26.02.00 - 18.04.02) and the 3rd Battalion Leicestershire Regiment (19.04.02 – 02.10.02). He was discharged after 23 years’ service on 4 September 1911, with exemplary conduct, and died in April 1942.
