In the OMRS Journal of 1981, J V Webb published an article listing the Bronze QSAs to European recipients. This was collated by My Webb going through each roll page. Without his list there would be no way to identify the bronze QSAs as they are scattered throughout the rolls. Acknowledging the enormous debt to J V Webb, I have taken his list of names and started to add the page references in WO100 to the award.

I have also started to identify the bronze QSAs that are known to survive. These are marked in blue.

This is ongoing research. If anyone has any information to add, please post a comment and I will update the list on this initial post.

A quite small survival rate, indeed! I can add another from ZA Bid-or-Buy, 22/7/2016. Bronze QSA, impressed naming to Tpr. A Cornelius, Dennison's Scouts. Sold apparently for R 11,272.
Wouldn't have minded that one myself.
Best regards
IL.

That didn't take very long before the list was augmented! That said, the word 'bronze' on the roll is difficult to see.

Thank you, IL, I have added him to the list.

Hi David
The recipients from the Border Scouts were all Coloured Men. Webb included them because of the surnames, which in most cases were Dutch. If they are removed, the list shrinks!! I have the group to B W January : includes WWI Pair to Cape Aux Horse Transport Corps and privately named Pta Citizens Service medal.
I also have the groups to G Harvey ( with Egypt/Khedives Star) and K A Stott ( With ABO, LvW & WWI Trio)
P Batice came from my collection and I sold the one to A Tree on the Spink Boer War Sale in 1999.
Bronze QSA 's have fascinated me right from my first collecting days. My second purchase from City Coins in the early 1970's included 2 to the S&T Corps and over the years some 40 have passed my way.
