Described as:

1899 QSA 5 clasps Cape Colony, Tugela Heights, OFS, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal to 284 Pte J.A. Jones 1st Border Regt, number, rank, initials and start of surname officially re-impressed, good very fine.

With 5 copied pages of service record, John Alexander Jones was born in Rathfriland, enlisted 12/12/82, served India and Burma, various court martials and imprisonments, was wounded in the scalp during the attack on Spion Kop 22/1/00, discharged 11/12/03, also issued KSA.
