Thank you Rory - an interesting read and v well researched.

I wasnt aware of the heavy lancashire/oldham/ bolton contribution. Do we have any idea why this might be ?

Good morning Rory
What a fabulous collection.
I have been very interested in this man for many years.
I have been collecting militaria for over 30 years now. I decided to attempt to collect one example of each medal of the Great War. The first Memorial Plaque which I acquired was to no other than Pioneer Lewis Youren of the Royal Engineers.
I have visited his grave in France and laid a memorial there.
I would love to reunite the medals he earned with his Plaque.
If you ever decide to sell your medals, I would love the first refusal.
