With regard to the Mafeking group to
Captain P B Clements, Cape Police,
that are being sought by the family, I came across a reference to them being in the National Museum, Rhodesia, in 1974. A long time ago, but that may be a starting point.
British South Africa Company Medal 1890-97, reverse Rhodesia 1896, (1) Mashonaland 1897, clasp loose on riband (3762 Pte. J. A. Miller. 7th. Huss.);
QSA (5) Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (3762 Pte. J. A. Miller. 7th. Hussars)
The pair to Snowden requires further scrutiny. I could not find him on the roll for the SALH and, despite it being mentioned that he was WIA at Elandslaagte, he does not have that clasp to the medal in the photo provided.
Likewise, he should have the DoL clasp and not that for the Relief?
