Could someone with access to the ABO rolls please confirm or otherwise the issue of an ABO Medal to AH Wade who served with the Standerton Commando and was later Mayor of the town.

No Wade's on the ABO Roll that I can see.

Wonderful news! Thanks chaps I have just bought his 1878 clasp "Zulu" war medal to the Transvaal Rangers and mention is made in his Who's Who bio of service with the Standerton Commando

This means I have his complete entitlement.

Do you know his first names as there was a A.H Wade that served in the Cape Police. Has the CGHGS medal and QSA/KSA.

Arthur Henry Wade born in Kingwilliamstown in 1859 and died in Standerton in 1939. Kingwilliamstown was the HQ for CP Dist 1.

Very interseting. The A.H Wade that served with the CP has the CGHGS medal with the Bechuanaland clasp and was apparently born in 1859 in King williamstown and died in Standerton in 1939.

Perhaps I am confusing him with Arthur Herbert Wade who died in 1947 ??
