Alexander McMenemy, of the 2nd Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders, served in India during the Hazara campaign of 1888 and then served in South Africa during the Second Boer War as part of the Highland Brigade Staff. Invalided 10 June 1901.

Finlay McNeil was captured at Swalkrantz on 4 June 1900 and released. To England, 24 June 1901.

John Armstrong was born in 1872 at Longtown, Cumberland and was a farm servant before attesting into the Seaforth Highlanders on 24 October 1891. He served in the East Indies from 28 January 1893 - 22 January 1897, then served in Malta 23 January 1897 - 21 March 1897 before serving in Crete from 22 March 1897 - 24 November 1897 before briefly returning to Malta from 25 November 1897 - 4 January 1898. Armstrong then served in Egypt between 5 January 1898 - 13 May 1900 before heading to South Africa where he served between 14 May 1900 - 2 September 1902. His remaining service was at Home serving between 3 September 1902 - 23 October 1912 and during this time he was awarded his LS&GC (A.O.73a 1 April 1910). Armstrong was discharged at Fort George, Inverness on 23 October 1912.
