If somebody is able to advise on the photos i have enclosed that would be much appreciated.

I have uploaded a photo of my great grandfather and great uncle and what looks to be a hat badge.
The photo of the anchor is completely unknown to me in terms of its reference or what it means.

In regards to the gentlemen in uniform.
The gentleman with the soft hat i believe could have been a part of the Royal Horse Artillery of the Wiltshire Yeomanry but im not 100% certain.
The photo of the hat badge could be of the same regiment but again not certain (i believe this belonged to the same gentleman)

The gentleman with the white helmet on the table – i have no knowledge of the regiment / tour / rank etc

If you are able to advise on the regiments / tours / ranks etc that they may have been involved with or the general purpose of the organisations that would be highly appreciated.

Kind regards –

Marcus

Hello Marcus,
And a warm welcome to the forum.
The first image looks like a Yeomanry collar badge so your theory could be correct.
The last image looks to be a sweetheart badge/brooch R.A. or R.H.A they were made for the troops to send home to their loved ones.

Marcus,

Welcome to the forum. I agree that the Wiltshire Yeomanry is a possibility here. What were the two gentlemen's names?

Ian

Thanks Ian.

The gentleman with the soft cap was Oliver James Hook of Swindon Wiltshire and the gentleman with the white helmet on the table was Frank Shurmer and at the time of the photo his address would have been Latton Cricklade or Swindon Wiltshire.

Thanks again
