I thought, perhaps, Cape Peninsular Rifles, but, it does have a "3" on it, perhaps Adrian might have some thoughts on this.

Paul

I think it might be 'Cape Rural Police, District 3'.

Hi Guys,

I am not big on buttons but I can say that it is unlike any buttons to the Cape Police that I have seen before. They had three Districts:

CP 1 Grahamstown
CP 2 Kimberley
CP 3 Cape Town

It could be the Cape Peninsula Regiment 3rd Battalion which during the ABW was a kind of Cape Town Guard. Or perhaps it could even be the 3rd Reg,Cape Peninsula Rifles WW1 era???

Not sure

Regards
Adrian
