That’s the logo of Webley & Scott
The past is not dead. In fact, it's not even past.

:silly: I should have been able see that myself! I guess it is also an example of how some sources can be incomplete, or lacking and that I have a lot to learn.

Thanks.

Another Boer War Revolver, a Webley WG. Belonged to a long-deceased family friend, J.M.L. Fulford. His Boer War regiments are engraved on the butt. He eventually served in the South African Police and retired as a Lieut. Colonel.
His photo as a lieutenant during the Boer War is also attached.

Not just a very handsome revolver, but also a piece of historical and personal value. This revolver would have been a private purchase weapon as well, as the WG was a commercial model.

Stunning piece, Terry.

Below is a photograph of a Webley WG in the hands of a member of the Pretoria Commando (taken early on in the conflict).

This photo is of incredible quality for the time period. Strangely, in my experience, I have not seen a Webley MKIV, the Boer war model as it is famously known, in many, if not any original photographs. I have seen a Tranter or Adams and a Colt New-Model Army revolver in Tinus Le Roux's book, which I have spent hours paging through.
