Hi Roy.......

I have seen a couple of pairs at the Regimental Museum and read about their manufacture in the Regimental Routine Orders but don't have a pair myself......

Here is a photo of a couple of badges that they had made in the UK on the way home.......

Thank you again for that. I can see what you mean, as the design is really quite different.

Do you have any views on my badge ?

As mentioned I'm leaning towards Steinaecker's Horse but I'm open to other suggestions.

Until any further details come to light I will tentatively put this down as (unofficial/locally made) Steinaecker's Horse.
