Mike it came with a lot of other badges bought as a lot. Sadly the lugs were flatened as were most of the other badges, some were missing theirs as can be seen in the Boer badge, that appears how they were mounted....!

This was sent to me on another site, a pic showing them worn on the side of their helmets, do you see them often in Canada?

Brian

Afternoon Brian......

They are not that uncommon and show up on ebay quite often...... I have 6 different versions including a sterling sliver officers and an officers where the cross on the crown and the letters Canada are gold on silver......

The one that is hard to find is the one with the King's Crown.......

Here is some writing on the Canadian Boer War Cap Badge on a different forum if you would like to see the questions and answers........

Hello Brian,
My own thoughts lean toward more of a pre ACF period, they really do sit rather comfortable with the collar badges of that period, but, I remain unconvinced at this point in time, their first properly made slouch hat badges were also made in Great Britain.
Again, kind regards Frank

Depends on how you look at it, great news if you have a shoe box or two ;)

 Very NICE !

That is a very nice badge Frank. Thanks for showing.

Rather unusual in that the "5th" point of the star is facing south and not north as in many five pointed star badges/medals.

Brian
