Hi Frank,
where did I get it ? I think that it came with a badge collection compiled after WW2 by a chap who had been an officer in the NMR. He actually collected British badges and these were all nicely framed. Sadly when I removed the badges from the frames I found that a number of them were fakes and not even 'good fakes'. However thrown into boxes and packets were some really nice South African badges, including the FID one. Clearly the SA badges had no real meaning for him, but being an officer in the NMR , local badges came his way. Luckily he kept these badges, possibly meaning to trade them for Brit badges.
I look forward to seeing your FID badges
Regards
Mike

Thanks, Frank.
That is a nice badge and nice provenance. It also authentices my badge, which is very pleasing.
Just packing prior to the drive up to Dundee for the Boer War Conference. Looking forward to it.

So would the infamous "Bulala Taylor" be part of this outfit?
