Thank you for the additional information on the UMP roll.

In a conversation a short while ago, the badge of the Natal Border Police (NBP) was mentioned. I have seen it illustrated, but never 'in the flesh', and I assume it is also exceedingly rare. Although the NBP was a post-war unit, most, if not all of its members had served in the Boer War, and so had the QSA or QSA/KSA named to other units. I have a couple of examples of such medals, but no badge. In the case of the UMP, I have the badge, but no medal. It must be my resident gremlins who have been at work again.

Never mind, you might be lucky and end up with a medal yet, but, most were issued of other rolls, perhaps the thing to do is simply lower your sights and get an example to one such man who have seen service with them and is on their roll.
I don't have one either, but, I certainly don't have sleepless nights about it, many people have tried to collect a medal to every corps, but, I have yet to see anyone who has actually succeeded, even PKD!

My ambitions are far more modest than those of PKD! Nevertheless, there are still gaps in the collection to be filled, which is a good thing. It would be awful to have nothing to look forward to!
