I had not heard of Westmount before reading your post and I wondered how it could afford to produce such a spectacular medal for its men who served in the Boer War. I googled it and now I understand.

Regards
Brett

PS My wife and I must have sailed passed Westmount in 1967 on a voyage from Chicago to Liverpool. If I had known about its medal then, I would have paid it my respects.

Mike,

I don't recall ever seeing that medal before and thinks its lovely.

The loop hole at the top of the crown was presumably for its suspension?

With thanks
