Dear avacuppa,

Many thanks - delighted to have been able to help.

The bottom of the page reads:

"proceeded to Mafeking on Aug. 1st and formed a Mounted Infantry Company which during the greater part of 1901 was attached to Lord Methuen's column, taking part in many engagements'.

You will be able to find a lot on Lord Methuen and his column in 1901 on the net.
