Yes, Major Macready is mentioned in John's letters, so far, three times, as the acting CO. Desperate photographs from the hilltop, though I can see how rocky it was. His photographs seem higher quality, though maybe it depends on the negative. It seems that maybe a couple of films made their way here, no negatives in sight, and maybe some rolls are mislaid. Perhaps the Gordon Highlanders Museum in Aberdeen have some of them.
