The following information comes from a Drabble Public Family Tree on Ancestry. It has been created by a Bob Peters who lives in Australia and is willing to help others with their family research.
Harry’s parents were:
George Dutton b 1835, York.
Sarah Wood b 1840, Doncaster, d 1920, Doncaster.
Harry was fifth of eight children – Alice b 1862, William b 1863, Ada b 1868, Fred b 1871, Harry b 1873, Frank b 1876, Arthur b 1878 & Florence b 1881.
Frank & Florence were the ones living with Harry in 1901. Ada & Arthur died in infancy.
By 1911 Florence had become Mrs Cooper and her (and Harry’s) parents were living with them.
Regarding Moranthorse1’s suggestion, we would be looking for a Harry Wood – rather a common name which could take one down a lot of rabbit holes. I think my question would be are you absolutely sure your photo is of Harry? His brothers Fred & Frank and even William would have been of an age to fight in the Second Boer War.
I think Bob Peters must be related to you but distantly and beyond 1st cousin level. I think the relationship may be through Sarah Wood as Bob (assuming he is the home person on his FT, details not given as he is still alive, logged on to Ancestry yesterday) appears to have some Woods in his recent ancestors. Suggest a month’s membership of Ancestry which would allow you to message Bob and download all the relevant documents he has found. What he has not found is Harry’s marriage record (rather than registration which he has found) and appearance on the 1921 Census & 1939 Register (which I found on Find My Past). If you send me your email address using the message service on this site I will happily send you these 3 documents – btw Bob does not have his exact date of birth as that is to be found in the 1939 Register.
Regards, David.
