Harry's will and administrative entry for 1923.
A fitting address for a Anglo Boer War Veteran don't you think?

Thanks so much Arthur, that's amazing. The info about the uniforms is particularly interesting to me, thanks for clarifying both the significance of the details and the overall context of the photo.
all best

Just wanted to thank everyone who's contributed information about Harry, really appreciate your generosity both of time and expertise. I've now got masses of detail to add to his entry on my Ancestry account, and as this is available for other Ancestry users to copy, the results of your research won't be just limited to my tree.

Thanks again.

All best

Dave F - I thought we only named roads after victories!

Arthur R - many thanks for your expert observations on the photo - I promise to stay in my comfort zone in future

Karen - again apologies if you are already aware of the following - there is a Yardley Public Family Tree on Ancestry created by somebody who calls himself "mry46" - he possesses HFY's medals, a write up of HFY made by HFY's grandson who knew HFY - it goes into some detail about HFY's time in the army and in SA as well as his family life and character - a fascinating read (even for a none relation). He also possesses an engraved Silver Tea-set presented to HFY by his commanding officer in SA. In his gallery he has the photo you have plus a couple of others. mry46 last logged into ancestry last month (I only add this because I believe Public Family Tress on Ancestry can survive their creator).

Ha, yeah you would have thought so David.
Could have been worse, there is a Spion Kop in Nottingham ;)
Even worse, what about Singapore Road in London::)
