Hi Simon,

I agree with yourself and Neville; he is the one who was awarded the DCM at Colenso; no doubt about it.

Unfortunately I think the reason for the error in his file "may' have to do with the timing of his transfer from the IV to the 13th Hussars (Aug 1899); he was then recalled for active service in October 1899. The records all got confused with the timing.

Since the 13th Hussars were not heavily engaged at Colenso he, along with the others listed in Neville's post, would have been some of the few of the regiment to have seen action that day.

It's a great medal; nice one.
