My name is Val van der Walt.
I’m particularly interested in anything that happened in and around Winburg, Freestate, as I grew up in that area.
Imperial or Boer, any info is much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Judging by the index volume to the Times History, there was quite some activity around that area. General Ian Hamilton advanced to that area 5/00 with the Winburg Column, the town was surrendered and Generals Clements and Colville operated in the area. The Winburg town and district earlier furnished men for a Commando.
There will be a fair bit of grist for the mill if you check the indices of the Times History, the Official History and others. These books may be accessed via the "books" section of this site.
