This clears up what happened to Joseph William James McCullough (one of those little family skeletons ;). His wife divorced him, because he supposedly deserted her, and she had the papers delivered to him c/o Mrs Timm. Until now, it seemed like he'd just dropped off the face of the earth. I guess he must have gone on to marry her.
It never fails to amaze me where information turns up!
