Saxon,

I have been through the attestation papers for Brabant's Horse for my Wepener research. I did not find any attestation paper for Gorman sadly. RG Gorman served in both 1st and 2nd Brabant's Horse and we joined well before Wepener. The Nominal rolls on this site list his service.

I also have a list of extant Wepener QSAs and he is not listed on there so he is new to this list.

I think your decision is a good one.

Best wishes
David

I really don't feel that the clasp is rare enough to worry about, if it is merely just a couple of examples that you want, they should be quite easy to obtain, as long as you are happy to pay for them.
I went into the peak district for Sunday lunch today and found myself in a local antiques fair that happens on a regular basis, a few medals to be found amongst all the general antiques, these included the QSA to 583 Private A Perreira of the Kaffrarian Rifles, the price, an awful £595! :(

Frank,

That sounds a nice lunch.

Perreira's QSA sold for £380 in Oct 2012!

Hello David,
I think that was a good buy, but, £595! madness, but, then some of these dealers price things up so as to deal with the usual price haggle that goes on at these little fairs, so I guess I should not be surprised really.

British Medals have the same 2 clasp QSA to the Kaffrarian Rifles with slight alteration to the rank for £395. That seems more like it!
