PS The envelope arrived intact this morning, so there are two reasons to celebrate - the envelope arrived and so did its contents. Many thanks for thinking of my interests, and then catering for them.

PPS A friend told me that the SA Post Office no longer accepts parcels for Northern Ireland. It cannot be long now that they will stop sending (and receiving) anything from anywhere. My father spend almost his entire adult life working for the pre-1994 SA PO. He would be amazed and disgusted by what has happened in the last 20 years.

Thanks for your kind comments. I really do think that I can learn more from you than vice versa! I am very pleased that the letter arrived in one piece; hope the contents were of use. Perhaps all the low denomination stamps my PO gave me made it look official?

I have saved the envelope, as well as an earlier one from QSAMike, in the hope that my grandson might one day follow in my footsteps and collect stamps.
