Hello Iain,

I am not to sure. The casualties list only mentions "Died of Disease". I would however, suspect that this would have been the cause. Typhoid took a terrible toll on the troops in the field.

Just as a matter of interest, there is a Pte George Moir buried in the the local Cemetery here in Pinetown. This chap died of disease on the 23/02/1902, he served with the 1st Battalion Seaforth Highlanders.
