This is the 2017 roll of honour, unveiled on 14th November that year outside the headquarters, which has been in Paternoster Square, The City, since 2004. The original ABW memorial is a marble tablet, which was in the Stock Exchange's former home in Old Broad Street. The tablet was reportedly left there in 2004, but I need to make a phone enquiry about that, unless anyone else here knows more.
The ABW names precede those from World Wars 1 and 2.

I think it is greatly reassuring at there are still people around, with a sense of history, that actually care enough to commission a memorial like this.

Agreed, Frank. It would have been so easy to just include the men from the two world wars, and not bother with the ABW men.

Hello Berenice

According to war memorials online, the original memorial is in store: www.warmemorialsonline.org.uk/memorial/130583

Let hope it is safe.

This sort of thing annoys me, invariably, an original memorial is better, in terms of overall quality and attention to detail, I wish people would leave them alone.

Hi Frank.....

I agree about original but I know of a memorial which was made out of brass and has been stolen a couple of times so they switched to cast aluminum and had it painted brass and it has not been stolen yet after 10 years..... The original brass one is inside the building it represents.....
