Thank, Paul. There's a second memorial to her in the same church, I'll post the photos tomorrow. I can only have two photos, or links, in each post now.

I can't think of a more impressive war-related memorial window in this country than this one.

Splendid pictures Berenice, a super piece of Victorian glass work.

She is thought to be the first woman to be included on a war memorial in Britain.


Close run thing - a memorial to the Welsh Hospital including the names of nurses was unveiled 21 August 1902.

I can't yet find an unveiling date for the St Helens memorial on which Clara Evans is named.
