I still cannot find a mention of Charlotte Veal but the search has been very interesting.

Tony Bernard Hi.
This is Donald Davies contacting you from Durban kwaZulu-Natal South Africa wr Enrnest St George Alderton Hughes and Ernest Cecil Eardley Hughes and David Hughes (my mother Joy Julia Donald 1st cousin), and Jessica Hughes (my 2nd cousin and good friend)
I have quite a bit of military service info on EStGA Hughes including his redeployment to Canada around 1902/3 and later to Egypt where his Great War medals were sent.
We look forward to hearing from the family in Ottawa Ontario Canada
