Kaapse Rebel, herewith some more examples of engraved stonework produced in Kakool (Kakul). Just a small amendment to Neville's excellent explanation on the matter, some stone artefacts from Kakool do indeed look grey . (see the last item below named to F.J. Strijdom)

Once again. this information is invaluable. My stone bible also has some light streaking, as seen in one of the images, and the carving style of my piece are extremely similar to the carving styles encountered on the other examples . With this evidence, I now confidently believe that India is the origin of the bible, or at least the origin of the stone the piece was crafted from.

The floral engravings seen on the previously shown examples are similar to the engravings on the back of my piece. Therefore our confidence in the Bible's origin being India is even further justified.
