Another Supplement/Index hard to find is the one that comes with The Times History......

The funny thing is I was able to get at set but missing Vol. 3 and 5 that had the General Supplement/Index then had to find the missing volumes......

But I did manage to pick up a full set of books to add to the library Creswicke's South Africa and the Transvaal War
which included the supplement book.

Cheers

Hello Paul,
Now why would you want one of those? regarding the cavalry, you could express a desire to be posted to a particular regiment from Canterbury or Hounslow, so you don't always have the "territorial" issues with that particular regiment.
It is certainly worth looking at a particular mans place of birth, was the medal named to a Scottish fellow or was his name actually Scott?
Regards Frank

My taste has become a little more discerning it seems
The only one that interested me was a "Skins" casualty QSA but I thought it a little overpriced. I also took your advice about "the Irish surname"this was named to Scott!

Cheers
Paul :)

Frank,
A lack of papers also made my mind up, his surname was Scott, that all I knew.

Cheers
Paul :)

I think you did the right thing, QSA's are common enough here and you will find exactly what you are looking for in due course.
