The Green Howards museum in Richmond North Yorkshire has been closed for a year for a total revamp.
It reopened last Sunday so I paid a visit today to check out the improvements.
The museum has always been a favourite of mine, the medal room in particular which holds a very good display of medals from the South African campaign.
Being the local regiment of my area it holds a VC to a local man who won his VC in the Great War.
I was at school with his Grandson and I remember being told of his courage by the teachers.
I took a few pics while in there that I hope the forum finds interesting, please excuse the poor quality and reflections.
It is well worth a visit if in the area, good value for £4 admission.

Cheers
Paul :)

Hello Paul,
I have not been there since I was a small boy, looks super, as are your photographs, although, I don't much care for the wretched maxim in the last, awful Wagnerian thing! :(
(built by schlooser's with sausage breath and bad manners!)
Kind regards Frank

Hello Frank,
Thank you for your comments.
The maxim was captured by the Yorkshire regiment at Ypres ;)

I feel uncomfortable just seeing one again, but, it's merely a tool! :(

Frank,
Seeing one up close, you can understand the devastation they made :(
