Munroe

That combination of medals is about as good as it gets for a South African group, so I hope you can find proof that it did belong to one man.

In any event, congratulations and thank you for showing the medals.

Regards
Brett

Dear Brett

It will be amazing if it is the same guy.

It my pleasure to show it to the forum. All he needed was a Natal 1906 to round it off.

As soon as I get the death records I hope we may know if its the same guy.

Kind regards

Munroe

Hello Munroe,
Well, I hope for you that it is the same man, again, it really is a superb group, so I hope that it can be proved.

Thanks for the pm, to answer the question, it is a silver East Griqualand Mounted (Rifle) Volunteers slouch hat badge, this particular one was worn by Colonel Stanford, their one time CO, who was also Officer Commanding East Griqualand.
I think you are fortunate to have Armstrong in your collection.
Again, kind regards Frank
