I've come to the conclusion that this is an Ancestry glitch David. How else can one explain that Wynne is older on attestation than he is on discharge?

There are certainly no wounds recorded on his papers.

The papers are the source of the error in the age.

This is attestation

This is discharge

I think you are correct - "Frobisher Bay" must be an Ancestry error.
According to one definition "In the military, a casualty is a person who is unable to serve in the line of duty due to. death, injury, illness, capture, or desertion."
My great grandfather was captured a few times - so maybe yours was as well.

i saw the same thing on my grandfathers 'short service attestation'. I'm also sure it is an Ancestry.com glitch

It is an Ancestry error - a number of IY men are from "Frobisher Bay" according to the IY Service paper index. Shame they can't correct errors.

Thank you all for this conversation. The same thing is on my great grandads “hint” on Ancestry.com. He lost a leg during the Boer War and I was baffled at the listing of release as Frobisher Bay.
