uMshwathi Local Municipality
uMshwathi Local Municipality is an administrative area in the UMgungundlovu District of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. The municipality is named after the uMshwathi River that runs through the municipal area. In the 1850s, missionaries and colonists from Germany settled in the region along with their families.

Many thanks, Rory and Mike.

There don't seem to be any QSAs named up to men of the Mtshwati Rifle Association, however many of the RA members received their medals for service in Murrays Horse . I have one such to Tpr. A F McKenzie. Though not actually named to a RA , it is close enough to go into my small collection of RA medal recipients ( fortunately I make the rules as to what qualifies and what doesn't )

I had a close look at the medal roll page and it appears to me that 10 medals may have been issued to the Mtshwati RA.



Of the 10, 6 were returned.
