I would have thought this particular medal was issued of the MER roll, because it does actually say, issued, on the 22nd of February 1911 along with the address it was sent out to.

So which is it, EGMR or MER, tell us, how is the medal named?

You could well be right Frank - I'm going according to WO 100/247 page 25 and page 29 which clearly mention s the Matatiele European Reserves.

Does this perhaps point to a possible double issue?
