McLaren | William Victor St Clair | | 2nd Lieutenant | He died of syncope at Pretoria, July 26th, 1900. He was born in May 1877, educated at Merchiston, Edinburgh, and entered his regiment from the 4th Battalion Cameronians (Militia), June 3rd, 1899. He accompanied the 1st Battalion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders to South Africa in October 1899, and served with the Kimberley relief force, afterwards taking part in the advance on Bloemfontein and Pretoria.
