Im trying to find out some information about John Morgan, he has come up on the family tree, and all I know is that he died in the Boer War in 1900. He was born in 1969. Is there any way of finding out more information?

any help is greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards
Charlotte

I just now had a look at the casualty roll and there are a lot of chaps therein with the name "J.Morgan"; 17 by my count. Six are shown as "died" at various dates in 1900. Afraid we will need more information to assist.

Thank you very much for your reply,

What sort of information would you need?

I'm going to have to do a lot of quizzing old relatives to see if anyone can remember anything

Best wishes

Quizzing the family might help; might not! Sometimes family has discharge papers tucked away, sometimes the medal(s), etc. If you knew where John Morgan came from in UniK it might help. Local newspapers I understand are on line and these may well hold a notification of someone who died on service. You have a long job ahead of you. Lucky breaks can be had!
Good luck

There isn't a John Morgan recorded as having died in the Boer War on the town's memorial tablet, in St Peter's Church, Wolverhampton.
